Deputy Majority Leader kicks against Constitution Amendment Deputy Majority Leader Alfred Agbeshi has kicked against call for parliament to consider amending the constitution to enable Regional Security Councils to have the powers to approve the execution of convicts sentenced under capital punishment. He said such a call if granted will undermine the authority of the President who is the number one gentleman of the land and has the sole authority to do so. Speaking on Radio Ghana's 'Behind the News' Mr. Agbesi who is also a member of the constitutional and Legal Affairs of Parliament said the right to live is guaranteed by the constitution and nobody can take it away except the court.
