FAO launches project to eliminate avian influenza from Ghana A Technical co-operation project to control and eliminate the highly pathogenic avian influenza from Ghana, has been launched in Accra. The move has become necessary following recent outbreak of avian influenza in neighbouring countries. This is a partnership between the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN and the Livestock Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, with support from UNICEF. The project which cost 430,000 dollars is expected to end in August this year. GBC
