President Mahama Addresses Ghanaian Community In Scotland


President John Dramani Mahama says government is doing all it can to ensure Ghanaians are safe and secured from terrorists attacks. 

According to the President, the National Security Council is assessing the threat that terrorists pose to Ghana and the sub region. 

Bamako, Burkina Faso and Abidjan have all had their fair share of deadly terrorists’ attacks as a result of the destabilization in North Africa which calls for greater concern by government. 

Addressing Ghanaians living and schooling in Scotland as part of his four day official visit to that country, President Mahama said the threat levels cannot be discounted and government is doing everything possible to protect her people from fallen prey to any attacks.

President Mahama reiterated the need to diversify the economy and making it more robust. 

He explained that what needed to be done to grow the economy to enable its encapsulated in the agenda for transformation of government.

He said transforming Ghana into a power hub for West Africa through gas from the jubilee field and other fields meant that Ghana has reserves to produce in excess of 2000 additional megawatts of power.
