Ghana, Burkina Faso pledge to fight cross border crime The Joint Security meeting between the Upper West Region and South West Region of Burkina Faso has ended in Wa with a pledge to continue to fight cross border crime. The meeting resolved that ECOWAS protocol should not be used all the time by any of the regions to hinder the arrest of criminals. A Communique read by the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Suleimani, said security officers should exchange contacts in order to conduct surveillance on suspected criminals. The meeting also recommends that modern and sophisticated communication gadgets should be acquired for the security personnel at the borders. They reiterated their commitment to reduce cross border crime to the bearest minimum. GBC
