Parliament approves two new deputy Ministers Parliament has approved the nomination of the new Deputy Minister for the Ashanti region, Andrews Osei Okrah and that for the Upper East region, Dr. Robert Bella Kugnab-Lem. Presenting the report of the Appointments Committee, the Chairman of the Committee and 1st Deputy Speaker, Ebo Barton-Odro said the Committee by consensus endorsed the nominees after a rigorous process of vetting them. Mr. Andrews Osei Okrah is the current Director of Human Resource at the Forestry Commission. He is also the present Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Students Loan Trust Fund and the Vice Chairman of the National Governing Council of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners Ghana. Dr. Robert Bella Kugnab-Lem is a Lecturer and Head of Department at the Community Health and Allied Sciences of the University of for Development Studies. The two Deputy Ministers will now wait to be sworn in by President Mahama to assume their new positions.
