Accra circuit court defers sentencing of a robber

An Accra Circuit Court has deferred to Thursday sentencing of an unemployed man,Prince Dogbe Tamakloe accused of robbery.

Dogbe used a toy gun to rob one Angel Quansah at her residence at East Legon in Accra.

Dogbe pleaded guilty to the offence and explained that it was due to hunger.

The Judge, Aboagye Tandoh however did not accept his explanation saying that being hungry does not warrant the offence.

On the 11th February,the complainant,Angel Quansah woke up to see the accused in her premises.

She became alarmed and questioned Dogbe how he managed to enter her premises.

Dogbe however declined to provide any tangible answer and went on to demand money for food.

The complainant gave him Ten cedis to buy food.

Instead he went to buy a toy gun and returned to the house to attack the complainant in the kitchen.

The complainant's shout for help drew the attention of her neighbours who arrested Dogbe.
