Interior Ministry declares March 25 and 28 statutory public holidays


The Minister for the interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, has declared Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 28. 2016, statutory public holidays.

A statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, (GBC) wishes to remind the public that, the holidays mark Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

The statement which was signed by the Sector Minister Mr. Bani, therefore asked that the days be observed as such throughout the country.


Background:

Good Friday is a Christian religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.
 
Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday in some countries. Most people enjoy outdoor sporting events on this day.
