Continue women empowerment crusade- Hajia Mary

The Chairperson of the Women Caucus in Parliament, Hajia Mary Salifu Boforo has reiterated the need for women based affirmative organizations to continue the women empowerment crusade and influence the taking of pragmatic actions to accelerate gender parity by 2030. 

She noted that at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs is the economic empowerment of women, adding that to attain a greater feat in women empowerment,  there is the need to eradicate socio-cultural practices and societal attitudes that discourage women. 

The Chairperson of the Women Caucus and Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Hajia Boforo stated this on the Floor of Parliament when she presented a statement to mark International Women's Day.
