Health Minister launches 2016 World Glaucoma week The Ministry of Health has appealed to all eye Clinics and Centres in the country to frequently open their doors to the public to receive free eye screening every quarterly especially during World Glaucoma Week celebrations. Also people should register with the National Health Insurance Scheme which covers the treatment of most eye diseases. This is to ensure the early screening and detection of eye diseases, especially severe ones like the primary open angle glaucoma which causes irreversible blindness in people. Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia, made the appeal when he launched the 2016 World Glaucoma Week in Accra. GBC
