President Mahama Calls For Formation Of Counter Terrorism Unit

President John Mahama says it is time to take drastic action against insurgency and terrorism especially in Ghana. 

To this end, he has charged the Police Council to fast track the formation of a counter terrorism unit which will detect and deal with threats in the country. 

Speaking at this year`s WASSA of the National Police Headquarters in Accra, President Mahama said the early formation of such an entity cannot be over emphasized since the scourge in such militancy is not far from Ghana.
