FIFA presidential election on key day for world football

World Football governing body FIFA will today elect a new President to replace 79 year old Sepp Blatter who stepped down amid growing corruption crisis.

207 delegates have converged on FIFA`s Headquaters to elect the new leader among five candidates. 

The contestants are: Sheik Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa, Giani Infantino, Prince bin al-Hussein, Tokyo Sexwale and Jerome champagne.  

The election process which is expected to commence at one pm will require a number of rounds of voting before a winner is known.

In another development,Sunday Oliseh has resigned as Head Coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles.
