Deadly yellow fever epidemic flares up in Angola

A yellow fever outbreak in Angola has killed 51 people, the first of its kind to hit the country in 30 years. Director of public health, Adelaide de Carvalho said about two hundred and forty- one people have been infected and more than 450 thousand people have been vaccinated in the capital Luanda.

The centre of the outbreak is Luanda's eastern suburb of Viana. 

The disease has no specific treatment and is transmitted by infected mosquitoes.
