GHC 176,000.00 classroom block for Assin-Fosu school A GHȼ 176,000.00 six-classroom block built for the Assin-Fosu Methodist Primary School to give more space for effective teaching and learning has been inaugurated. The project was implemented with funding from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). Dr. Kofi Blankson, the Assin-Fosu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), performing the inaugural ceremony, repeated the government’s unwavering resolve to create the right conditions for smooth academic work. He gave the assurance that it would do everything to provide access to education by building the infrastructure and the supply of the needed logistics. He said the expectation was that the school kids and their teachers would do their part by working hard to improve performance. Dr. Blankson used the occasion to remind all stakeholders – the community, religious bodies and parents, to pull together to develop education in the municipality. He asked the management of the school to see to it that the structure was properly maintained. Madam Agnes Ninfa, the head teacher, described the project as a welcomed relief and called on parents to make sure that children were not only enrolled but retained in school. This, she said, demanded providing them with their basic school needs, adding that, the best investment they could make was to give their kids’ education. SOURCE: GNA
