Meningitis death toll hits 93 93 deaths out of 584 meningitis cases have been reported in affected districts in all the nine regions across the country as of last weekend. The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira in an interview with Radio Ghana said Brong-Ahafo Region remains the most active with the meningitis outbreak as 18 districts have already been affected, with Tain and Jaman North districts crossing the epidemic threshold. The Brong-Ahafo Region has since the outbreak in December last year recorded the highest case of 359 with 52 deaths, followed by Northern Region, which has also recorded 18 cases with eight deaths.
