Residents of Savelugu/Nanton battle with access to potable water The health situation of residents of the Jegbun Electoral Area in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality of the Northern Region is under serious threat as they compete with animals to access water in a nearby dam. The over one thousand people in the area have been battling with the lack of potable water for decades. The residents especially women and children walk about four kilometers to access drinking water from the polluted dam. According to the Assembly Woman of the Area, Rosina Abdul-Rahaman the situation has led to some people getting diarrhoea, blood in urine and other health conditions. But, this has not been confirmed by medical experts yet. GBC
