Ashgold beat MO Bejaia in CAF Champions League clash A second half Tijani Joshua goal was enough to give Ashgold victory over MO Bejaia in the first leg of preliminary matches of the CAF Champions league at Obuasi. Ashgold showed their intentions early in the game when they attacked their visitors on a number of occasions. The resolute defense of Bejaia stood tall to thwart the efforts. The visitors also made some incursions into the Ashgold goal area, but it was not to be. Left back Tijani Joshua broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. Mo Bejaia were reduced to 10 men when their player was sent off for a second bookable offence. The visitors employed counter attacking antics but the homesters stopped them. The two sides will play a return match in Algeria in a forth night. Ashgold was the runner up in the 1997 edition of the competition. GBC
