Police arrest man for kidnapping A young man by name, Kingsford Mensah, has been arrested by the Tema Fishing Harbour Police for allegedly trying to kidnap three children; a girl and two boys aged between 11 and 12 years. According to the Tema Regional Police PRO, ASP Juliana Obeng, two men who were driving on the Fishing Harbour road towards Tema New Town and saw Kingsford Mensah talking to the children and later asked them to get into his car. She said the two became suspicious and reported to the Tema Fishing Harbour Police who subsequently picked up Kingsford Mensah. ASP Obeng however cautioned parents to be conscious of the movement of their wards and urged them not to send their children under 16 alone, on errands that cover long distances. Mother of one of the alleged kidnapped children, Grace Alele, who later rushed to the Police Station upon hearing the incident, told Radio Ghana that she was surprised that a stranger could just see a child in the street and decide to help them without the parents’ consent. The suspect Kingsley Mensah is in Police Custody pending further investigations. GBC
