Ashanti REGSEC deploys security personnel to flush out Fulani herdsmen from Agogo The Ashanti Regional Security Council, REGSEC, has deployed a number of security personnel to Asante Akyem Agogo to augment those already on the ground to flush out the Fulani herdsmen in the area. REGSEC urged residents of Agogo and its environs to have confidence in the security personnel to maintain law and order. The Chairman of REGSEC and outgoing Ashanti Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi Mensah who stated this at a news conference in Kumasi, hoped the Security Task Force will be able to contain the escalating situation saying it has always been a regular feature of security operations in the area when reports of Fulani invasion are received. The Chief of the Fulani Community in Ghana, Iddrisu Mohammed Bingle says the fulani community is happy with the intervention by the Regional Security Council in finding solutions to the problem. Alhaji Bingle said the Fulanis have acquired some of the lands in Agogo where they graze their cattle. However because proper documentation was not done some farmers continue to farm on the lands that the Fulanis have acquired hence the confusion. GBC
