Group expresses worry over alleged scrambling of DKM assets A group calling itself Coalition of Youth for Positive National Development (CYPOND) in collaboration with concerned customers of embattled DKM Diamond Micro Finance Company in Wa in the Upper West Region have expressed grave worry about the alleged scrambling for assets of DKM by some aggrieved customers who have resorted to court actions as a conduit to get back their investment. The Convener of the group, Prosper Puo-ire who described the act as a "Rambo style" at a news conference in Wa appealed to Attorney General and the Judicial Council of Ghana to intervene in the larger interest of customers by restraining the courts from granting the reliefs of individual customers. About week ago, some customers of embattled DKM Diamond Micro Finance company secured court orders to take possession of assets of the company including assets of the CEO, Martin Delle and some managers of the company. It was also alleged at the news conference that a group of military and police personnel acting on a court directive ransacked offices of DKM including the CEO's personal residence in the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital, Sunyani. It is for this reason that CYPOND and the concerned customers of DKM in the Upper West Region are expressing worry about the act and describing it as a Rambo style. Mr. Puo-ire said decisions of the courts that have granted reliefs to some customers are respected but the interest of all customers should be the watch-word. He emphasized that the un-coordinated manner in which things are being done can make some unscrupulous people to take undue advantage of the situation. Mr. Puo-ire added that the collective interest of all customers of DKM Micro Finance Company should be pursued as against individual interest. He said allowing individual customers to lay hands on the company's assets may compel other customers to do same thereby leaving nothing left to be liquidated. Mr. Puo-ire indicated that it will be prudent to allow some of the subsidiary companies of DKM Micro Finance company to continue to operate till things are well sorted out. GBC
