CPP National Delegates Congress Underway At Trade Fair Site In Accra The national delegates’ congress of the CPP is ongoing at the trade fair site in Accra to elect a flagbearer for the party for the 2016 elections. More than 2 thousand five hundred delegates from across the country are to cast their ballot to be supervised by the Electoral Commission. Ahead of the election all the four aspirates have expressed confidence of emerging victorious. Daughter of Ghana's president Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Samia Yaaba Nkrumah said she has the charisma and qualities to deliver Ghana from the current economic quagmire. Lawyer Bright who is contesting for the third time said his preoccupation is to unite the party because political party is not a family inheritance. New comer in the Presidential race of the CPP Joseph Agyepong asked the delegates not to be enticed by the money being shared by some of the aspirants. Meanwhile, the chairman of the party, Prof Edmund Delle has expressed satisfaction at the level of comportment exhibited by all the aspirants. He said the candidates have been made to swear to support whoever emerges winner. In a related development the police says enough personnel have been deployed to provide security at the congress. The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander Rev Dr. Dampare said the police have been on the ground since Tuesday and from all indications the congress will be incident free. GBC
