Accra High Court places interlocutory injunction on CPP Congress


An Accra high court has placed an interlocutory injunction on the CPP Delegates Congress slated for tomorrow. 

The plaintiff, Onzy Nkrumah sued the party for not giving him the opportunity to join the CPP race.

Speaking on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Program "Behind the News" , Mr Nkrumah said the party's reason for rejecting his forms were trivial. 

He said the General Secretary has been served with the injunction.

Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary of the CPP Eric Asani says the party has received an injunction on the upcoming congress but will go ahead to elect its flagbearer. 

He said Mr. Onzy Nkrumah who filed the Injunction was disqualified because he did not meet all the requirements such as paying his nomination fee in a cheque form rather than in cash. 

Eric Asani who also spoke to George Asekere on the same Program, described the action taken by Mr. Onzy Nkrumah as clandestine and mischievous.
