Verify information from social media 
– NMC tells journalists

Executive Secretary of the National Media Commission (NMC), George Sarpong, has lamented the 
extent to which social media has hampered journalism in the country. 

He said any information put on social media comes with a risk. 

He urged individuals and journalists to verify information they source from social media before conveying it on mainstream media. 

Meanwhile, an ICT Consultant, Randulf Ambala says its untrue social media users cannot be identified. 

He said tracing social media users is possible in 8 out of 10 cases.
