Dogboe expresses disappointment at Ayi for pulling out of scheduled fight


A WBO Africa and WBA Pan Africa Featherweight champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe has hit hard at his compatriot Patrick Ayi, who is reportedly unwilling to sign up to fight on February 20 . 

The flamboyant 21-year-old expressed disappointment at Ayi pulling out of their scheduled clash, initially billed for the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, and is daring his rival to face him in the ring to determine who the best featherweight in Ghana is.

Under the maiden event of Aborigines Beach Resort Promotions bill, the undefeated Dogboe is scheduled to defend the WBO Africa and WBA Pan-Africa Featherweight belts he won by demolishing George Krampah last December.

Ayi who was also tagged as the ideal opponent for the headliner but the boxer, trained by experienced coach Ofori Asare, has apparently refused to sign the contract to make the fight official.

Reports say Dogboe remains furious even though plans are far advanced for Michael Pappoe (cousin of former world champion, Joshua Clottey) to sign up as the new opponent on February 20.
