“You will prosper under my gov’t” – Akufo-Addo assures beauticians and hairdressers 


The 2016 presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured the membership of the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers that his government will put in place the requisite conditions for their businesses to flourish. 

Nana Addo made this known at a dinner organised to climax a 5-day seminar of the Association.

The Association has a membership of 20, thousand hairdressers and beauticians from all 10 regions of the country. 

The purpose of the seminar, which is held annually, is to enhance and improve the skills of beauticians and hairdressers. 

Nana Akufo-Addo who was accompanied by the NPP National Women’s Organiser Otiko Afisa Djaba, said the NPP was born out of a political tradition which strongly believes that private sector development is key to any nation’s quest for sustained development and improvement in the livelihood of its citizens. 

The party’s 8-year record in office, he said, is a testament to this fact. 

Akufo-Addo assured the people that the crippling tax regime, which has been imposed on Ghanaians by the government will be reviewed under his administration.


The Association has a membership of 20,000 hairdressers and beauticians from all 10 regions of the country. 

The purpose of the seminar, which is held annually, is to enhance and improve the skills of beauticians and hairdressers. 

The Association also invited their Togolese and Beninoises counterparts.

The President of the Association, Mrs. Joyce Lamptey, expressed the collective joy of the Association at his presence at the dinner. 

She outlined the aims of the Association, which were to defend the interests of beauticians and hairdressers, and enhance their productivity. 

She added that the Association also undertakes outreach programs, and that, this year, 50 women with hearing disability will be trained to enable them be effective beauticians and hairdressers. 

The Association was also now to build its own headquarters.
