Police gear up for 2016 polls The Police Service says it is well positioned to adequately ensure security before, during and after this year`s general elections. In light of this, a National Election Security Task Force would be inaugurated on the 20th of this month (Jan. 20) to kick start security strategies and measures ahead of the November polls. The Director of Public Affairs of the Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the task force comprises all the National Security Agencies. He added that the move is normally carried out every election year and believes the National Election Security Task Force will stand up to the duty of ensuring a peaceful atmosphere ahead of the polls.
