Redouble Efforts At Achieving Single Monetary Zone - Amissah-Arthur Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks in the West African sub-region have been challenged to redouble their efforts in achieving the single monetary zone for ECOWAS. The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur threw the challenge at the thirty-fifth meeting of the West African Monetary Zone Convergence Council in Accra. He pointed out that despite the economic challenges of member countries occasioned by the global economic downturn the resolve of member states to pursue a monetary union within ECOWAS remains undaunted.
