12th January, 2016 The Daily Graphic salutes the Taxi driver who aided in the arrest of armed robbers thus preventing them from robbing a staff of the Koala shopping mall. The Paper commends the driver for mustering courage to stand up to the suspected robbers and putting his life at risk. The Graphic says it is refreshing, the show of solidarity from the public saying, it shows how society is ready to honor its heroes. The paper commends the management of Koala, government and the police administration for the packages promised the taxi driver. It says the attitude of the driver reinforces the widely held position of the police administration that crime combat is a shared responsibility. The Ghanaian Times urges Ghanaians to be cautious and prevent fire outbreaks completely. The paper says fire outbreaks in this period have caused enormous destruction running into millions of Cedis. It therefore calls on the public to be proactive in preventing fire not only during harmattan but all times. The Times again urges farmers, hunters and people who recklessly set bush fires for whatever reasons to be mindful of the dangers that their actions pose to the people and the environment. The paper commends the Ghana National Fire service for being proactive in giving out safety tips to educate the public on how to prevent fire outbreaks. GBC
