The Ghanaian Times writes under the heading "Why Must We Pay More". To the Paper, one of the ways that government ensures development is through citizenry when taxes are raised, cost of living becomes very expensive. To the paper most workers disagree with both parliamentarians and government over the utility price hikes and accuse them of not considering their interests. Some workers maintain that it is insensitive of the government to impose such hardships on them. 

The Daily Graphic writes on the withdrawal of licences of some 70 micro-finance companies. To the Paper, there is no doubt that the action of the bank is clearly meant to ensure that all companies operating as micro-finance institutions have the wherewithal to protect the interest of depositors. However, the paper believes the action by the Central Bank is coming at a time when most operators have mismanaged the funds belonging to depositors, leaving them in a state of hopelessness. The Daily Graphic believes this fire fighting approach should give way to proactiveness on the part of the Central bank to decentralise it operations by strengthening  its regional branches and equipping them within funds and logistics to monitor companies that operate as micro finances. The Central Bank should also be able to use its mechanism to detect early warning signs to prevent the situation from creating problems for the economy.
