Vice President Amissah-Arthur Eulogises Founder and Group Chairman, Global Haulage Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has eulogised the Founder and Group Chairman of Global Haulage Ltd, Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu over his humility, honesty and hard work. He said though a muslim , Alhaji Iddrisu is a model for every Ghanaian and therefore ought to be celebrated. Vice President Amissah-Arthur said this at a dinner in honour of Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu in Accra. The National Security Advisor, Alhaji Baba Kamara, UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for ECOWAS, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, and the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu were among the hundreds of people who attended the dinner. From a humble beginning in 1966, Global Haulage Group Ltd is now one of the most successful transport haulage companies in the country. Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu is also into agriculture, construction and banking. In recognition of his sterling achievements, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in November last year conferred on him an honorary doctorate degree. The government of Ghana in 2007 awarded him a national honour of Member of Order of Volta. Two years earlier, the Millennium Excellence Awards had also honoured him. Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu has also won other national and international awards. The dinner was therefore to celebrate his success and the latest award. Vice President Amissah- Arthur on behalf of the government and people of Ghana thanked Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu for his enormous contribution to Ghana's development. Dr Ibn Chambas said the muslim community will continue to present Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu as a revered role model for the muslim youth. He said this will enable the youth to be inspired to know that it is possible to achieve set goals through hard work and discipline. A documentary on Alhaji ADamu Iddrisu was shown to the people mostly muslims. GBC
