Christians urged to pray for peace before, during and after elections 2016


Many churches in the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipality were filled with regular and occasional worshipers to usher in the New Year. 

At the Victory Chapel of the Global Evangelical Church, the service took the form of intercessory prayers, singing and dancing.
 
Prayers were offered for the nation including the Cabinet; Judiciary; and the Security.

In a sermon dubbed "Agree with the Holy Spirt" the Parish Pastor, Reverend Maxwell Joshua Bonuedi challenged Christians to continue to have faith in God as they entered the New Year adding that Christians must leave all the negative things behind and move into the New Year with positive things only. 

He said Christians should obey the doctrines of God and do the right things so that they can benefit from the blessings of God. 

He urged the church to pray fervently for peace to prevail before, during and after the elections. Reverend Bonuedi exhorted Ghanaians to look forward to the New Year with optimism, trust and faith that good thing will come their way. 

At the Zion Assembly of the Pentecost Church at Nungua, the Head Pastor, Ato Nkansah entreated Ghanains to poses their possessions as they entered the New Year adding that they must rededicate their lives to Christ and live by His example of humility and selflessness.

He said the New Year should be a year of stocktaking and reflection for Christians on what they should have done better and what they could do to help others and the nation. 

He urged Christians to be law abiding, especially as the electioneering period approached, to sustain the peace in the country, adding that they should use their time profitably and to work hard to justify what they earned. 

At the Faith Community Ministries at La, the Founder and Minister in Charge, Reverend Dr. Nathan Nunoo, said Ghanains must be law abiding and fervently pray for the leadership of the nation and urged Christians to be committed to God. 

Meanwhile food joints, drinking spots and pubs were not left out. A cross section of residents were also spotted sipping their drinks to usher in the New Year.
