Christians usher New Year with watch-night service

 
Religious leaders in Tema have asked Christians to always say a prayer for the nation till it enters the polls at the end of the year. 

According to them, this will enable God to intervene with any pre and post-election violence. 

Speaking at various watch night services to usher in the New Year, they proposed that political parties should pledge an honor to conduct campaigns devoid of rancor and acrimony. 

The Senior Minister of the First Baptist Church at community five, Reverend David Kwame said Christians do not have to wait till the eleventh hour before they consider the nation in prayers.
 
He suggested that churches draw programs on peaceful elections on their various church calendars. 

The Resident Minister in charge of the St. Andrews Methodist Church at Tema community two, Reverend Kojo Obeng said God will see the country through the general elections peacefully if Christians hold on to the Lord.
 
The Head Pastor of the Zoe Temple of the International Central Gospel Church, at community five, Reverend Kojo Amo Asare encouraged the congregation that the years ahead will be better than before.
 
His exhortation was on divine upliftment.
  
The Reverend Minister of the Grace Congregation of the Presbyterian Church at community 11, Reverend Joyce Akweley Adoteye said God will see Ghana through all challenges with his divine protection and favor .
