Ghana new bonus package coming soon The head of Ghana’s Sports Ministry, Dr Mustapha Ahmed says a final decision on remuneration package of the Black Stars is nigh. Ghana’s minister for youth and sports, Mustapha Ahmed, has disclosed that discussions are underway to settle the dust surrounding the winning bonuses of the Black Stars. The team’s remuneration package has been an issue of intense debate lately with many clamouring for a slash due to the country’s economic challenges. Currently receiving $10,000 per head as winning bonus, the hullaballoo on the remuneration reared its ugly head once again during Ghana’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying double-header with Comoros in November when media reports speculated an imminent reduction by 50 percent. “It’s a very delicate and sensitive issue, so we need to address it with extreme care,” Ahmed told Nhyira FM. “We at the ministry, together with the Black Stars management committee, are still deliberating the issue. We’ll come out with a decision very soon. “We’re still discussing the matter and it will not be proper for me to talk about it on air. We have held some meetings but we’re yet to come to a conclusion. As soon as we do, we’ll alert the public.” GOAL
