MOH to procure squatting equipment for hospitals The Ministry of Health (MOH) is considering procuring squatting equipment for delivery in hospitals. According to experts, the squatting position is best for African women considering the traditional practices and also helps prevent fistula. However, there are limited squatting equipment in Ghana's hospitals. Currently, the Mamprobi Polyclinic has none of the squatting equipment with just two delivery beds serving the hundreds of pregnant women who visit the facility. Speaking during a visit to the Mamprobi Clinic, the Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia, said the Ministry intends to procure more of such equipment to aid delivery and also to help reduce maternal mortality and morbidity.
