Koforidua Regional Hospital records 12 new born babies on Christmas day Twelve new babies were delivered at the Koforidua Regional Hospital in the New Juaben Municipality on Christmas Day. Seven of them are male while five are female. According to the Senior Staff Midwife on duty, Comfort Abeka Adjin, the first baby, a boy weighing three point seven kilograms was delivered at 12:23 am by a 24-year old woman, Linda Amponsah, while the last baby, weighing four kilograms was also recorded at 4:34 pm delivered by a 23-year old woman, Rebecca Ababio. The youngest among the mothers was nineteen years old while the oldest was 35. Madam Abeka Adjin said all of them had safe delivery of healthy babies. She advised them to give the babies exclusive breastfeeding to enable them grow as healthy and have sound minds to become useful assets to the society. Madam Abeka Adjin asked the mothers also to eat balanced diet when discharged from the hospital in order to give proper breastfeeding to the babies. She entreated those in labour to quickly report at the hospital for orthodox medical treatment rather than falling on herbalists and spiritualists for concoction to compound their health problems. GBC
