Christians Mark Christmas With Church Service


Christians in Ghana, today celebrated Christmas with church service.  

In Tema, messages of love, peace and unity run through sermons to mark the birth of Christ, in the Tema Metropolis. 

At the First Baptist Church at Tema Community five, the Senior Pastor, Reverend David Kwame said Christians must see the birth of Christ as a time to show love to one another. 

He said Jesus’s birth signifies love and peace. Reverend Kwame added that Christmas is not all about merry making but a time to also remember those in need and show compassion to them. 

The Reverend Minister in charge of the Grace Congregation of the Presbyterian Church at Community 11, Reverend Joyce Akweley Adoteye said the season should be enjoyed by all Christians since the birth of Jesus brought joy to Christians. 

She also asked Christians to live in unity and put their past behind them. The Community four Presbyterian Church also used the occasion to baptize new born babies. 

At the Tema Community One Presbyterian Church, the District Minister, Reverend Robert Boyefio-Quartey charged Christians to live in the love of God and love one another since it is the solution to all the ills which afflicts the world today. 

He said most times during this festive season Christians spend lavishly thereby destroying the purpose for Christ's birth. 

At the Teshie Victory Chapel of the Global Evangelical Church, the Parish Pastor, Reverend Maxwell Joshua Bonuedi challenged Christians to use the season to reflect on their past as they show love to the destitute in society.
