Palm oil now safe for consumption – FDA assures


The Food and Drugs Authority FDA says 90 percent of Palm oil currently on the market is safe for consumption.  

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Food of the FDA, John Odame Darkwah, said measures put in place by the Authority to eradicate adulterated palm oil from the market have yielded positive results.  

He announced that the FDA in collaboration with the Oil Palm Development Association of Ghana has registered more than 500 Palm Oil traders from various markets and provided them with neck tags for identification as genuine sellers.
