Educationist worried about children engaged in fishing activities in Upper West

An Educationist, Ibrahim Abdullai has decried the rate at which children at Talawona in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region are engaged in fishing activities on the Black Volta at the expense of their education. 

To make matters worse, parents are also supporting their children making them lose interest in formal education. 

Mr Abdullai who is also a teacher in the area was speaking at a Public Accountability forum in the district at Wechiau. 

He said the situation if not checked will lead to the closure of the major school in the vicinity.
