NPP has no 'secret' bank account - NEC Report

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has released the report on investigations bordering on an alleged secret bank account. 

A statement signed by the Director of Communications of the party, Nana Akomea, says the report indicates that there was no operation of a secret account.

It says, the account in question at the Ecobank, Trust Towers branch, is a party account which has been dormant. 

The statement said, the reactivation of the account was, however, done without all the necessary consultations at the National Executive level.  

It said the committee that investigated the allegations found that disbursements made from the Ecobank account were done in pursuant to the budget drawn up and approved for the by-election in Talensi.  

Also, the committee found there was no truth in the allegation of disbursement of a 100 thousand pounds from any NPP account to the 2016 flagbearer.
