Accra High Court strikes out case against PNC

A suit filed against the PNC by three leading members of the party has also been struck out by the High Court in Accra.  

The plaintiffs, David Apasera, Henry Hanina Asante and Abubakar Sadiq Ebla  filed the  writ against  the  party over its decision to allow  Bernard Mornah contest the National Chairmanship position.  

The three alleged that Mr. Mornah issued a 'dud' cheque when he filed for  the  position and  should therefore be disqualified by the party. 

However, both the plaintiffs and their Counsel failed to appear before the Court to argue out the case.  

In view of that, Counsel for the PNC, Dr. Raymond Atuguba, prayed the court to strike out the case because in his opinion, the plaintiffs were not interested in pursuing the case further. 

The judge, Justice Sophia Benasko Essah obliged and accordingly struck the case out. She also awarded a cost of  GH¢1,000 against the plaintiffs.

Meanwhile, one of the Chairman aspirant of the just ended PNC National Congress in Wa, David Apasera, has confirmed that the case he filed at the high court has been thrown out but he will appeal.
