Ghana Health Service offer free health services

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) in collaboration with the Eastern Regional Health Directorate is organizing a medical outreach to offer free health services to  deprived districts in the region.

The week long programme is taking place in the Kwahu East, Akyemansa and Ayensuano districts.

It started at Abetifi and Kwahu Tafo in the Kwahu East District, where  health personnel diagnosed the people and prescribed medication for the treatment of their aliments. 

The medical teams  include opticians, physicians and paediatricians.

The Eastern Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Charity Sarpong, who led the team to their locations,spoke about the relevance of such exercise to the public as a whole.

She said the main objective of the  Ghana Health Service is to provide quality health service to remote areas where health accessibility is a problem.

Dr. Sarpong urged pregnant women to attend antenatal Clinics to avoid complications during labour.

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, Siaw Quaye,commended the Ghana Health Service for taking a such programme to the door step of the people of Abetifi and its environs.
