DPSI instills confidence in kids through extra curricula activities 


The Delhi Public School International (DPSI), a world class international school in Tema has organized a dance competition to inculcate confidence in kids towards a holistic child development.


A program aimed at teaching students a sense of competitiveness and participation at a young age to help them overcome challenges in life as they grow has been organized by the Delhi Public School International (DPSI), a world class international school in Tema.

The program which took a form a dance competition is to inculcate confidence in the kids towards a holistic child development.



Speaking at the ceremony, the Principal of DPSI, Mr. David Raj said teachers of the school are trained in modern techniques to help pupils to realize their academic and extracurricular potential.

Adding that it is also to teach the children how to face crowd on a stage and to help the children do away with timidity whenever they come across huge gathering.


 “It was organized to teach the children how to face crowd on a stage to bring out a performance. It also helps the children to be bold and do away with fear whenever they come across huge gathering”.

He added that the program is aimed at teaching students a sense of competitiveness and participation at a young age to help them overcome challenges in life as they grow.

Mr. Raj noted that his teachers are trained in modern techniques that help pupils to realize their academic and extracurricular potential.


Dressed in fancy apparel and colorful costumes, the pupils aged 3 to 5 showcased their creativity through multicultural dance performances.

The event was organized at the premises of the ultramodern school at community 25 in Tema with parents, school authorities and other guests in attendance.

The kids displayed complex moves of “Adowa” and “Kpanlogo” Ghanaian dance to the admiration of the audience.

Other popular Hindu dances as well as Hip-pop interlaced with various modern dance moves were performed by the school children.

The ultimate winners were Mary Joy and Nandini Sinha who picked up awards for kindergarten and nursery respectively.

Parents who shared their thoughts about the program were impressed about the use of extracurricular activities to teach students important values in life.

Mrs. Caroline Adusei who has her child in the school said, “The program was very educative and also helps the children to exercise their body”. 

To her, calculations in dance movements will help the children in mathematics. She says such program will also boost the competitive nature of students.

For her part, Mrs. Eunice Aryee believes the creativeness of children is brought to bear during such program.  What she was particularly excited about is the emphasis on parent participation. She says she learnt a lot as she had to research and help her child to perform.

DPSI won 3 gold trophies and 27 medals at the World Scholar’s Cup recently in Malaysia. The school has won the National Spelling Bee competition for three consecutive years and recorded the highest performance at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in US.

They also received the outstanding school in Ghana award by the World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) for its holistic education and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Recently, the school recorded excellent results from students who passed the IGCSE examinations with flying colors.
