President Mahama Orders Payment To Black Queens President Mahama has ordered the Ministry of Youth and Sports to immediately release $135,000 to pay the Women National team, the Black Queens $5000 each so they could leave the M-Plaza hotel. The Black Queens have been camped in the hotel after returning home from this year’s All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville and winning gold for the country. This means each player will now receive $5000 as against the $2000 budgeted for them by the ministry. The Presidential intervention follows days of a stalemate between the players and the ministry over the amount of money due them. According to reports, the President has instructed that the money is paid in cash to the players. The team has since been paid in cash. GBC
