MMDAs urged to contact Disabled Federation before selecting people with disability The Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD) has appealed to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to consult their local branches before selecting people with disability to represent them in the various District Assemblies. The National Advocacy Officer at the Federation, Isaac Tugunu who made the appeal through Radio Ghana said the information gathered indicates that Chief Executives in the various MMDAs are selecting people with disability without consulting them. The selection of people with disability to the District Assemblies follows a request granted by President Mahama directing that one person each with disability should be given the chance to be part of deliberations at the local level.
