Non-enforcement of whistle blowers act linked to poor security Director of Newspapers at the Graphic Communications Group, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo, says the whistle blowers Act is not being enforced because of the nature of the country's security. He said there have been instances where the identity of the whistle blower has been exposed, endangering the informants life. He made reference to information about an abattoir which turned bloody because the informant was exposed. Mr. Ayeboafo said the situation will definitely discourage people from giving out information. He was speaking on GBC'S Current Affairs Programme, “Talking Point” which discussed the challenges of the whistle blowers Act. Also on the programme was a Lawyer Elikplim Agbemava. In his view, stakeholders went to sleep after the Act was passed in 2006. He said structures needed to see the effectiveness of the Act were never put in place. GBC
