Establish fund to aid plant medicine research The Minister of Health Alex Segbefia says herbal medicine is a treasure to the country but the inability to explore modern ways of sourcing, production and practice remains a challenge. He however, believes that this can be achieved through thorough application of science and technology. Mr. Segbefia made this known when he inaugurated a nine member board for the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine. The Minister assured the Board of government's assistance to help them achieve positive results. Meanwhile, the new Board Chairman for the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, Prof. Yaw Tetteh, has advocated the setting up of a plant medicine fund to enable the centre to deliver on its mandate and assume its rightful place in plant medicine research in Ghana. Prof. Tetteh said researching into plant medicine is expensive and a fund will support the operations of the research centre. GBC
