18th September, 2015 The Daily Graphic commends government for efforts to make secondary education free, which will ultimately increase enrolment in schools and afford most deprived communities the chance to also educate their children in good and standardised structures. The Paper however says, until the new schools and the refurbished ones are well-equipped with the needed infrastructure, the job of giving basic education to the future generation will not be complete. The Ghanaian Times is concerned about the rising cases of diabetes in the country. It stresses the need for people to go for voluntary screening to determine their status. The Paper says about 500,000 Ghanaians may be living with the disease, but it could be controlled and managed with a little injection of insulin. The Times urges Ghanaians to avail themselves for screening to know their status, and take steps to guard against the debilitating disease. GBC
