Social welfare to close down 30 children homes 

The Director of Social Welfare at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs.Comfort Asare, says due to the Ministry’s objective of enhancing family based care, the department is discouraging the establishment of Children's Homes.

She said the Social Welfare intends to close down about 30 Homes by the end of the year.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mrs. Asare said although children are still being kept in the said Homes, their managements are assisting the department to reintegrate the inmates into society.
