Abuakwa police arrests suspect over Nana Edusa Gyepong’s death

The Sanaahene of Otumfuo Oyokohene, Nana Kwaku Nkrumah has been arrested by the Abuakwa police in the Ashanti Region over the assassination of the Chief of Atwima Koforidua, Nana Edusa Gyepong. 

The late chief was gunned down last Monday at the outskirt of new site, a suburb of Atwima Koforidua in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of Ashanti by an unknown assailant. 

Reports say the private car on which the late chief was travelling, had a punctured tyre on the way. It was during the replacement of the punctured tyre that Nana Edusa Gyepong was shot and killed by the unknown assailant. 

The family of the late chief has linked his assassination to a land dispute.
