Black Queens earn semifinal spot through drawing of lots

Ghana's Black Queens earned a semifinal spot during the drawing of lots for places at the semifinal stage at the ongoing 11th African Games Brazzaville 2015.

Black Queens drew goalless against Senegal, before they drew one all with Cameroon to put the South Africans and Ghana on the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored, which necessitated the drawing of lots to to break the tie.

Ghana was picked ahead of South Africa whilst Burkina Faso got the nod over Sudan at the brief ceremony held on Monday, 14 September 2015 at the Kintele Sports Complex.

In view of this, Ghana will face western neighbours Cote d’Ivoire in Women’s semis on Tuesday, 15 September 2015 at the Kintele Stadium whereas Cameroon face Nigeria in the other semis clash.

For the Men, it will be Congo versus Senegal and Nigeria against Burkina Faso.

On the other hand, Black Meteors, which is th U-23 male team of Ghana were knocked out of the competition, following a draw between Senegal and Nigeria.
