Alhaji Sorogho files nomination forms for re-election


Alhaji Ahmadu Sorogho, Member of Parliament for Abokobi-Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has filed his nomination forms to seek for re-election as the NDC candidate for the 2016 election. 

The filing took place at the party's Constituency office at Madina amid musical and dance hall display from supporters, who thronged the place clad in his personalized ‘T’ shirts to give him support.

He presented the three copies of the nomination forms to Mr Abdul Razak, Constituency Secretary with a banker’s draft of GHC10, 000.00 as filing fee attached.
 
Alhadji Sorogho, who is also the incumbent MP for the Madina-Abokobi Constituency in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, thanked the teeming supporters who thronged the party’s office to give their unflinching support.

He pledged to continue the transformation of the Constituency and appealed to the supporters to vote for him as the parliamentary candidate for the fourth time to continue with development in the 
Constituency.

Alhaji Sorogho noted that under his tenure of office, he facilitated the process in ensuring that the area got a municipality status, since effective developments revolved around metropolis.

The Abokobi-Madina MP said he was seeking re-election because of the achievements chalked including road construction, hospital, water and other infrastructural projects.

Alhaji Sorogho promised to work assiduously to improve upon the NDC votes in the Constituency in the upcoming 2016 general elections.

Four other have so far picked nominations forms to contest the Constituency primary including Mr Francis Xavier Sasu, Mr Adam Abdul Nasser, Mr Baba Ibrahim Adam, and Mr Arimiyaw Addulai Rahim.

Mr Razak commended the contestants for an orderly ceremony and urged them to caution their supporters against politics of insults.
